As a brand, we’ve been wanting to share more information about what goes on behind-the-scenes in an effort to be more transparent. As customers of other brands, we appreciate when they make an effort to share specifics about the materials and manufacturing of their products. It brings a comfort and a connection to that brand, and creates trust that they are aligning their values with the products they’re selling.
Even though we’ve been around since 2002, we have realized how much more we could share with our customers. As we started gathering information together, we were excited to share it, but we also discovered that there is so much more we want to be doing to better our practices over time.
We want to be open and honest with you about this process, sharing where we are now, and where we’re headed. Here’s our first steps in doing this:
- The launch of ourHOW WE CARE page, which outlines some of the ways we have been, and continue, to be more responsible in our practices
- The introduction of our Style 411 on every product page
THE STYLE 411
The development of ourStyle 411 was key to further enhance our transparency. This is something you’ll find with each of our styles – and highlighted on every product page.
Whenever you click on the Style 411, a popup will appear that gives you all the details on that specific style. You’ll see a list of icons that tell you more about the ingredients that make up that product and how it was made – this is where you can learn about the fabric, certifications, production details, and more.
HOW IT WORKS
SUSTAINABILITY IS PERSONAL
Sustainability is personal, and everyone has different value systems. Maybe you value local manufacturing. Maybe organic cotton is important to you. Maybe natural fibers are what you look for. Maybe recycled materials are your top priority. Whatever it is, the Style 411 helps you find the best styles to match your values.
For us – placing all the information we can access into your hands givesyou the chance to make the best decision for you and your family. With the integration of our Style 411, you can now easily *shop your values*.
We believe that sustainability is holistic – it’s something that includes both people and the planet, and it’s something that is constantly evolving. We don’t have all the answers, but we are doing our best by acting locally, continuing to cooperate with our surrounding garment community in Los Angeles, while also thinking globally.
As our responsibility framework evolves, we may integrate additional icons, because we’re always learning. Sustainability is a journey, not a destination, and we promise to keep you in the loop along the way.
