THE LOCAL COMMUNITY ISN'T
JUST WHERE WE DO BUSINESS,
it's where we got our education. From day one, we have been knitting, dyeing, cutting and sewing with partners across Los Angeles, and learning from them along the way.
SHOP YOUR VALUES WITH
THE STYLE 411
With our enhanced focus on transparency, you'll find detailed information, or the “Style 411”, on each of our products. Sustainability is personal, and everyone has different value systems.
Maybe local manufacturing is really important to you, or natural fibers or recycled materials – whatever it is, our Style 411s help you find the products to match your values.

Since day one, we have partnered with our local manufacturers.
Making our styles in Los Angeles, CA, USA has been, and continues to be a priority. Manufacturing locally allows us to oversee our production and be involved in the process, to ensure the best quality and consistency in all our styles.

Many of our fabrics are knit in Los Angeles.
This means that the yarn is knit into fabric locally - we are fortunate to be able to continue to partner with great quality local fabric knitters.

Many of our styles are dyed locally in Los Angeles, through our collaboration with the local garment industry. This means that the fabric and/or garments are dyed locally.
Our dye house partners use low-impact Azo-free reactive dyes that contain no carcinogens or teratogens, and are CalProp65 compliant. They do not spray any additional treatments on our fabrics.

Many of our styles are made from natural fibers – specifically cotton.
When we think about the end-of-life of garments, natural fibers such as cotton have the potential to biodegrade over time, allowing them to return to the Earth naturally. Not only does cotton feel soft and cozy, it boasts great breathability. Wearing natural fibers is not only good to support the ecology, it’s also healthier for your body.

Some of our cotton fabrics are made using Organic Cotton yarn.
The yarn used in our organic styles is Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified. GOTS is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibers. The organic yarn is then knit and dyed in Los Angeles. All of our organic styles are made from 100% organic cotton.

A selection of our swim styles are made from recycled materials. We believe in reusing the resources we already have as much as possible.
Our recycled nylon used in certain swim styles is made of 80% Recycled Mipan® Regen Nylon & 20% Creora® HighClo Spandex. Our recycled polyester is made of 90% Repreve Recycled Polyester & 10% Spandex.

Some of our fabrics are certified STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®.
Certain chemicals used in textiles and textile production are harmful to human health. That’s why OEKO-TEX® works to create trust in textiles and leather by testing products to provide transparency into the supply chain, and improve product safety and sustainable production. Their labels mean that the products have been independently tested and verified for high product safety.

Zero Discharge Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) certification is the most comprehensive program, when it comes to chemical inputs and outputs.
They help manage the inputs in supply chains to reduce the amount of hazardous chemicals that are discharged into water waste.

UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) is a standard used to measure sunburn protection.
All of our swim styles and some of our cotton knit styles are UPF 50+ (the highest rating), meaning that they help protect your kids’ skin from sunburn and sun damage. No special treatments or chemicals have been added to the fabric for sun protection - the protection exists naturally in the tight weave and thickness of the fabric.

“These are PERFECT for my son who has severe eczema and needs cotton pants to wear everywhere. They fit perfectly, they’re comfy, he loves them and that’s huge. Going to order more soon!!” -Audra H.
The majority of our styles are considered sensory friendly.
We don’t use irritating fasteners – you won't find zippers, bottoms, or snaps on most of our clothes.
In fact, 100% of our bottoms are made with pull-up elastic waistbands, and all waistbands, including underwear, are covered in soft, high-quality fabric to avoid irritating your child’s sensitive skin.

- Compostable Mailers by Better Packaging Company (certified home compostable)
- Recycled PolyBags by EcoEnclose (100% recycled and recyclable)
While we shift to lower-impact packaging and marketing options, we still have conventional options on-hand. For us, sustainability also means using what we already have.

Working with our local community has always included paying fair wages to the people throughout our supply chain.
The sewers at all of our factories are employees of the manufacturer, and are paid hourly at least the minimum wage. To learn more about the layers of our values, read our Code Of Conduct, which has been signed by all of our suppliers.
